why survival archetypes?
I know I know, it can all sound a bit woo, but hear me out.
Our mantra here at JAW is know thyself. As uncomfortable as it is, bringing awareness to our body in ways we’ve never explored before offers a shift in perspective. A new perspective often brings us opportunity to make different choices that we didn’t even know we had.
In our information addicted culture, our subconscious minds crave story and imagination. Although our conscious mind is often conditioned to value big words, explanations, logic and facts, our subconscious mind responds to pictures and images. Archetypes provide images and feeling ~ valuable information to our nervous system.
This might be a wild take and feel free to call me crazy, but sometimes I do things just because its fun. I love taking my knowledge of female physiology and packaging it up in a way that is light, fun, hopeful and palatable. It’s easier for you to remember and apply it and it’s fun for me to teach. Win win.
tips for the most accurate quiz results:
Choose the answer that first jumps out at you, before your “thinking brain” has a chance to take over.
Try to keep your answers based on the past three months, paying special attention to when you’ve felt most stressed during that time. Remember, the archetypes aren’t who you are, they’re how you stress (and we ALL stress).
Take the quiz at different times in your cycle, as the archetypes represent different parts of your cycle so they can be stronger or weaker at different phases.
If you’ve tried these tips and still aren’t sure what your dominant survival archetype is, that’s okay! Some women may not get a super clear answer, especially if they’re having a hard time connecting with their body or behavior. If this is the case, you may just need to do some extra digging.
I recommend reading the blog posts and listening to the podcast episodes on each archetype. Once you’ve got the information, you may just need to ponder for a bit or even ask other people in your life who may be able to see parts of yourself that you can’t quite see clearly yet.
This might take a little while, and that’s totally fine! Take your time and enjoy the discovery process.
