Apple Cider Vinegar Morning Lemonade

Now, you might freak out about drinking 32 oz. water right when you wake up, but to that, I say,


So, suck it up.

Moody? Hydrate. Headache? Hydrate. Can’t poop? Hydrate. Bad day? Hydrate. See a theme here?

You guys know that proper hydration is one of the foundational pillars of my healing protocols. Our bodies are primarily water and being properly, consistently hydrated throughout the day will change:

  • the way your organs function
  • the way your body detoxes
  • your energy levels
  • the speed of aging
  • skin health
  • how bad you get the "keto-flu" when going low carb

Need I say more?

You’ve probably seen this cocktail or some version of it consistently floating around the world wide web for some time now, but there’s a reason: it is strategically setting up your metabolism for the day. Bonus: it won’t break your intermittent fast!

-20-32 oz. Filtered Water (if you aren't used to hydrating, work up to 32 oz.)
-Juice 1/2 Lemon or 1 Whole Lime (both have different benefits so mix it up)
-1 Tsp. Himalayan Pink salt or Sole
-10 drops liquid stevia (optional)

Simply, mix it up and enjoy!

This guy is a staple in my everyday routine and no matter what my day looks like, our relationship remains steady. Because without him, I don’t feel quite like myself.


HYDRATION UPON WAKING: when we wake up, our bodies are dehydrated from utilizing extra water to detoxify during the night. It's SO important to rehydrate right when you wake up, or you go through your day feeling crappy not happy.

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR: is full of acetic acid which make it anti-fungal and anti-bacterial; hello strong immune system. It also contains carboxylic acid which helps you increase absorption of a minerals (a must for healthy cells!). Lastly, apple cider vinegar helps balance your blood sugar by decreasing insulin resistance, a main factor in PCOS.

CITRUS JUICE: lemons and limes contain liminoids, compounds that stimulate the liver to produce the body’s master antioxidant, glutathione.

MINERAL SALT: on a low-carb, ketogenic diet, your body gets depleted of minerals fast. Himilayan pink salt is an amazing way to keep mineral balance in your cells.

STEVIA: this one’s optional. Keep in mind, if you’re fasting, the taste of something sweet (even if it doesn’t spike blood sugar) can cause cravings. If you struggle with intense cravings, it might be a good idea to leave this one out.
